About Block Fit
Block Fit is a relaxed block puzzle on an 8×8 grid. You are offered three pieces at a time. Drag them onto the board, fill whole rows and columns to clear them, and keep the board open for as long as you can. There is no timer: the only pressure is running out of room.

How to play Block Fit
- Drag a piece from the tray onto the grid. A dashed preview shows where it will land; let go to drop it.
- Fill a whole row or column and it clears. Rows and columns that fill at the same moment all clear together.
- Once all three pieces are placed you get three new ones.
- The game ends when none of the pieces on offer fits anywhere. Those pieces are marked "No room".
- No mouse? Press 1, 2 or 3 to pick a piece, move it with the arrow keys and press Enter to drop it. On a phone you can also tap a piece, then tap the board.
Rules
- Pieces cannot be rotated, and each must sit fully inside the grid on empty cells.
- Every block you place scores 1 point.
- Clearing lines scores 10 for one line, 30 for two at once, 60 for three, 100 for four, and so on.
- Clearing again within three placements builds a combo: the second clear in a row is worth ×2, the third ×3, and so on. Three placements without a clear reset it.
- Emptying the whole board with a clear earns a 300-point bonus.
Block Fit tips and strategy
- Keep a space for the big pieces. The 3×3 square and the long five-block bars are the ones that end games, so leave room where they could go.
- Place the awkward piece of the three first, while the board is at its most open.
- Clearing a row and a column together is worth far more than clearing them one at a time.
- Try to keep the combo going by setting up several nearly full lines before finishing them.
- Avoid leaving single-cell holes: only the smallest piece can fill them.
Block Fit questions
Can I rotate pieces?
No. Each piece comes in a fixed orientation, which is part of the challenge. Different rotations of the same shape turn up as separate pieces.
How are the pieces chosen?
Each tray is drawn from a weighted set of shapes: small pieces and squares are common, big L-shapes and the 3×3 block are rarer. The draws come from a seed stored with your game, so a resumed game deals exactly the same pieces.
When does the game end?
When none of the pieces still waiting in the tray fits anywhere on the grid. A piece you have already placed does not count, so one small piece left in the tray can keep you alive.
Is my game saved?
Yes. The board, the tray and your score are saved in this browser after every move, so a reload carries on where you were. Your best score is kept too.
