About Daily 2048
The daily 2048 gives every player the same tiles on the same day. You get one run, and a new board arrives at 00:00 UTC.
2048 is a sliding-tile puzzle played on a 4×4 grid. Every move slides all the tiles one way; two tiles with the same number merge into one worth their sum. Keep merging until you build a 2048 tile — then see how much further you can go.

How to play 2048
- Press an arrow key (or W, A, S, D), or swipe on the board, to slide every tile in that direction.
- When two tiles with the same number touch, they merge into one tile worth their sum: 2 + 2 makes 4, 4 + 4 makes 8.
- After every move a new 2 (or occasionally a 4) appears in an empty cell.
- Reach the 2048 tile to win. You can keep going for a higher score.
- The game ends when the board is full and no two neighbouring tiles match.
Rules
- Each tile can merge only once per move, so a row of 2, 2, 2, 2 slid left becomes 4, 4.
- Your score goes up by the value of every tile you create by merging.
- A move that shifts nothing does not count and adds no new tile.
2048 tips and strategy
- Pick a corner and keep your biggest tile in it. Most strong players choose a bottom corner and rarely move away from it.
- Keep the row along that corner full, so a stray move can't pull the big tile out.
- Build a chain: the biggest tile in the corner, the next biggest beside it, and so on down the row.
- Avoid the direction that points away from your corner unless you have no other move.
- On the 5×5 board you have more room, so there is less pressure to merge small tiles early.

Is it possible to lose after making 2048?
You have already won once you make 2048. You can keep playing for a higher score, and the game ends only when no moves are left.
What is the highest possible tile?
On a 4×4 board the theoretical maximum is 131,072, but reaching 4096 or 8192 is already an excellent result.
How does the daily 2048 work?
Everyone gets the same starting tiles and the same random stream on the same day, so scores are comparable. You get one run per day; a new one starts at 00:00 UTC.
